August 16 and 17 2013 I was part of an "Inspired by the Canyon project hosted by the Yukon Conservation Society. They were looking for projects that used sculpture, installation and audience participation. Intrigued by the many human stories in a place that people often enjoy for its natural beauty, I thought my "see through" project would be a good fit (so to speak.)





I made dress forms on hikers passing through using zippy wrap and clear packing tape. I then installed their empty volumes in the landscape, to catch the light and to evoke human presences from the recent and more distant past. They act as lenses through which to look at the landscape differently. I then painted those constructions as they were installed. Here are some photos of the installed dress forms.
