100 Dresses for the Depths of Winter in
Haines Junction, dresses 1-13
January 24 to February 5 2010, The Junction Art and Music Society
(JAM) hosted me in Haines Jucntion to create 100 Dresses inspired by
their longest season.

I spent the first week in the school, where interest and engagement
built till I was painting with students all day by Thursday and Friday!

Then I moved over to the Yukon College Campus and finished the
project there, where people joined me for evening "Guest Dress"
sessions.

In the final installation in the Convention Centre, my 100 Dresses were
joined by over 100 Guest Dresses painted by members of the
community. Many people had taken their work home, so the
participation was just awesome. It's the most Guest Dresses I've ever
had, and considering that Haines Junction has a population of about 800
people, that meant that we had a good representation of community
members' art up on those temporary walls we created for the show.

Some of those people have asked, why doesn't she have the Haines
Junction Dresses up on her site?

So here they are. Most of them are still for sale, $100 plus $5 gst ea.
Paintings marked SK are in Skagway at the
Gathering of Spirits Gallery.

Thanks so much to everyone who helped make the project happen.
